Chandran Rasalingam’s success story is that of most Canadians: A resilient journey forged by hard work and humility.

Chandran Rasalingam is the Chairman of the Inforce Group of Companies. Chandran has drawn from his own experiences, his distinct purpose that binds together his multiple ventures – help those around him grow generational wealth that provides them with protection, investment, and ultimately – freedom.

In 2012, Chandran left the safety net of a six-figure salary and a meteoric rise through the ranks of one of Canada’s storied financial institutions to build his own dream. He launched his maiden venture out of Toronto – Inforce Life – as a Managing General Agent (MGA) with a vision of becoming the country’s strongest and most innovative distributor of financial services products and solutions, from insurance and estate planning to investment and retirement planning and group and travel insurance.

A true entrepreneur, Chandran left a promising career at one of Canada’s largest financial institutions – to bet on himself.

Despite several setbacks that came at great business and sometimes personal costs, Chandran stayed the course validating his passion for entrepreneurship. Since its humble beginnings, Inforce Life – now the crown jewel of the group – has grown at an astonishing rate of over 4,000% in sales, 12x in team size, trusted MGA partnerships in the double figures, and is licenced in six provinces.

To continue delivering promises and building trust, Chandran is now focused on the next phase of his leadership at Inforce. While learning and growth, continuous improvement, and digital transformation have always been at the core of company culture, he is now investing his expertise in an innovative insurtech start-up focused on developing cutting-edge technology to accelerate his life’s mission to democratize wealth.

Chandran’s ‘why’ comes from his own relationship with money. Simply put, he had little of it. Like most immigrants, he came to Canada without much to his name. Fleeing war-torn Sri Lanka as a refugee, family circumstances forced a teenaged Chandran to drop out of college and he spent his early years working as a dishwasher and pastry assistant amongst other gigs. But destiny had other designs for him. His natural charisma and unbelievable work ethic eventually gave him his first invaluable start in the financial services sector – and there was no turning back.

Dropping out of college to take care of his family, Chandran learned firsthand that wealth needs to be a generational right and not just an inheritance.

With the Inforce Group expanding at a rapid pace under his visionary leadership, Chandran has also drawn on his inherent spirituality to be mindful about he strengthens people, grows businesses, and builds community. Paying homage to their chairman’s roots, the Inforce Group has clearly understood Maya Angelou’s truth that “no one of us can be free until everybody is free.”

The not-for-profit Inforce Foundation continues to empower communities in Canada and around the world. From poverty alleviation, disaster relief, access to clean water, agriculture, and health, Chandran has led the foundation in creating impact when and where it matters the most.
